Ghanaian heavyweight Dancehall artist Shatta Wale has stated emphatically that, since awards do not buy houses, he’s only focused on making money, not awards.
This was in reaction to some criticism that Ghanaian musicians are not producing standard music hence their inability to make it to international awards platforms.
After Wizkid and Burna Boy won their respective awards at the 63rd Grammys held at Los Angeles yesterday,
Entertainment critics have been on the neck of the elite musicians in Ghana, saying that they’re not working hard enough to gain international recognition.
Shatta Wale made a live video where he made things clear that, he is only focused on making money and would not spend his hard earned money in an industry with no proper structures of getting those monies back.
He accused Media Houses and Presenters of promoting foreign contents at the expense of Ghanaian ones, yet will make a disgusting U-turn to accuse artists of not working hard enough to produce Grammy-standard music videos and promoting their albums world wide.
