The $170 million judgement debt piled on Ghana seems to have provoked criticisms from the general public.
It has taken over the media space and Ghanaians have shared divergent views expressing their displeasure over the country’s actions.
Political activists especially those on the other side of the political divide has mounted excessive pressure on government to take immediate steps on the debt.
In a heated discussion on Asempa FM’s Ekosiisen show hosted by Osei Bonsu in the late hours of yesterday, the host arrested the speech of an NDC NDC Communications Team Member, Eric Agyei.
According to OB, it is not morally right and acceptable to describe a person like Godfred Odame as a “local champion.”
In a submission by Eric Agyei, an astute communicator for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), he registered his resentment over the 170 million United State Dollars of judgement debt against Ghana. He indicated, that the penalty is a gross financial loss to the state.
Speaking further, he made a statement which did not go down well with the host and panelist of the show after he sought to describe the current Attorney-General, Mr. Godfred Odame as a local champion.
To wit, someone who has been crowned an erudite, intelligent and firm in his own country (Ghana), but fails to make same strides at the global stage.
The host and other panelist who is an NPP communicator implored Mr. Eric Agyei to retract and apologise for calling the Attorney-General with such a name.
