Government’s Transparency Made Ghanaians Know Spouses of Past Presidents Were Paid Monthly

Local News

It is clear Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is running an open administration where secrecy that characterised the previous government has no place.

Ghanaians were surprised to hear that government wants to formalise Monthly payments made to spouses of Former Presidents.

Many are now out of that shock and wondering why such an important part of governance has been hidden from them since.

Speaking frankly, Nana Addo’s transparency in managing the country is unmatched. Knowing that past President’s wives had been paid since long but not known by the public, government has taken the pain to let its people know what their taxes have been doing in the lives of past first and second Ladies of the Republic.

This is a wholesome step taken by leadership of the Country. One may argue why he exposed that to us as a people knowing Ghanaians will agitate and others, propagate scandalously unrelated fiction about same.

It takes a loving, dedicated, incorruptible personality like Akufo-Addo to expose the citizens to such decades hidden expenditure from our taxes.

Why not, expressing one’s view on the matter is alright but let’s look at the moral vim and courage behind the revelation and reorient our trust in this government. It is clear he would not hide anything from the people that have given him the mandate to lead them.

Future Presidents may have labelled Akufo-Addo among those who kept the people in the dark for not letting the world know, that the country spends hugely on past Presidents and their wives.
